Circle Bag Making Course 101

This workshop will instruct aspiring handbag designers how to make a handmade leather circle bag. This course covers beginning and intermediate level leather crafting techniques. The class will give an overview of some of the most commonly used leather crafting tools, while teaching classic leather work skills as well as non-traditional methods. During the course students will be instructed on how to cutting leather, punch stitching holes, saddle stitch, attach pipping, turning the bag, dropping in the lining, and attaching the shoulder strap. The techniques taught may vary slightly. The course will offer
in-class demonstrations, practice exercises, and skill-building task and assignments; as well as
at-home tasks. The student outcome is to complete a handmade leather circle bag.

Barrel Bag Making Course 102

Barrel BAg Making Course

The leather barrel bag workshop teaches students how to construct a handmade bag using contemporary and old-world artisan skills. This course covers beginning and intermediate leather crafting techniques. The class will give an overview of some of the most commonly used leather crafting tools, while teaching classic leather work skills as well as non-traditional methods. During the course students will be instructed on how to cutting leather, punch stitching holes, saddle stitch, add a zipper, turning the bag, dropping in the lining, and attach the strap or handles. The techniques taught may vary slightly. The course will offer in-class demonstrations, practice exercises, and skill-building task and assignments; as well as at-home tasks. The student outcome is to complete a handmade leather barrel bag.

Boston BAg Making Course

The handmade leather Boston bag workshop guides new handbag makers on how to create and assemble a satchel bag without a sewing machine. This course covers beginning, intermediate, and advanced leather crafting techniques. The class will instruct students on classic leather work skills as well as non-traditional methods. The students will be instructed on how to cutting leather, punch stitching holes, saddle stitch, adding a lining with a zipper pocket, turning the bag, adding a zipper, dropping in the lining, edge finishing, attaching the strap or handles. The techniques taught may vary slightly. The course will offer in-class demonstrations, practice exercises, and skill-building task and assignments; as well as at-home tasks. The student outcome is to complete a handmade leather Boston bag.

Tote Bag Making Course

Learn to make a leather tote bag by hand. This course covers beginning and intermediate level leather crafting techniques. The leather crafting and accessories making workshop will include a variety of small leather goods: such as; wristlets, sunglasses cases, tablet and lap top cases, belts, simple wallets, compact mirrors covers, key chains, card holders, passport cases, and zipper pouches. The class will give an overview of some of the most commonly used leather crafting tools, while teaching classic leather work skills as well as non-traditional methods. The student outcome is to complete five (5) handmade leather accessories. The techniques taught may vary slightly. The course will offer in-class demonstrations, practice exercises, and skill-building task and assignments; as well as at-home tasks and to complete your accessories.
